SalesPalPrivacy Policy
This policy explains what information SalesPal collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
SalesPal is a sales, profit, invoice and expense tracking app for small businesses, available at salespal.online and as an Android app. In this policy, "SalesPal", "we", "us" and "our" refer to the operator of SalesPal. If you have any questions, contact us at oseabhi@gmail.com.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your name (optional), email address, and a password. Passwords are stored only as a secure one-way hash — we never store your actual password.
- Business data you enter. The records you create in the app: sales, invoices, expenses, products, business name, and any customer details you choose to record (such as a customer's name or phone number). This information is yours; we store it so the app can work for you.
- Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, or collect a customer payment through the app, the payment is processed by our payment partner, Paystack. Your card or bank details are handled by Paystack and are not stored by SalesPal. We keep only a record that a payment happened (amount, date, reference).
- Notifications. If you turn on notifications, we store the push subscription your browser or device provides, so we can send you reminders and updates.
- Basic usage information. A session cookie to keep you signed in, and a general indication of how you first reached SalesPal (for example, search or a direct link). We do not build advertising profiles.
How we use your information
- To provide the app: record your sales and expenses, calculate your profit, generate invoices and receipts, and track who owes you money.
- To send invoices, receipts, payment reminders, and the motivational and overdue-payment notifications you enable.
- To provide optional AI-powered advice and reports (see below).
- To process subscription payments and customer payment links through Paystack.
- To keep your account secure, back up your data, provide support, and improve the app.
AI-powered advice
When you ask SalesPal for advice, insights, or a weekly report, the relevant figures from your business (such as your sales and expense totals) are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic (Claude), to generate the response. This data is used only to produce your advice and is not used to train AI models. If you never use these features, this data is never sent.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers who help us run SalesPal, and only as needed for them to do so:
- Paystack — to process payments.
- Anthropic — to generate AI advice, when you request it.
- Our cloud hosting provider — to store your data and run the app.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and SalesPal.
How we store and protect your data
Your data is stored on secure cloud servers and transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Passwords are hashed, and we take regular backups so your records aren't lost. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information from unauthorised access.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual records at any time inside the app. If you want your account and its data deleted entirely, email us at oseabhi@gmail.com and we will remove it.
Your choices
- Access and edit. You can view, edit, and delete your records inside the app at any time.
- Export. You can generate and download invoices, receipts, and statements as PDF or image files.
- Notifications. You can turn notifications off in the app or in your device settings.
- Deletion. You can request full account and data deletion by emailing us.
Children
SalesPal is a business tool intended for adults. It is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect information from, children under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Effective" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be announced in the app.
